Heading out for a day in the Big Apple, Johnny Depp was spotted leaving his apartment in New York City on Monday (February 27).

The “Rum Diaries” stud was dressed in his typical garb as he made his way out of the east coast digs while getting the attention of some fans who were standing close-by.

Meanwhile, Paramount Pictures’ “Rango,” starring Depp as the voice of a pet chameleon, won the Oscar for best animated feature film at Sunday’s Oscar Awards.

Also featuring the voices of Isla Fisher, Abigial Breslin and Ned Beatty – “Rango” beat out “Kung Fu Panda 2, “Shrek” – spinoff and “Puss in Boots.”
